Old friends in Ealing

On the way up to Nottingham I had the chance of seeing another game on the Saturday and ended up going to Vallis Way to see Ealing play Blaydon which is very near where I originally come from.
A really good match ensued in which Ealing secured a bonus point win and it gave me a chance to meet up with two old friends of Jersey RFC. Tom Brown who was Jersey's top try scorer last year is captain of Ealing and started the game with an amazing catch from the kick-off and a barnstorming run breaking four tackles. Tom's match was cut short a few minutes later when an accidental collision between Tom's nose and the Blaydon Hooker lead to a trip to A&E:
It was great to see Tom and his lass again - they are always welcome in my corner of St Ouen.
I also met up with James Copsey who was a prolific try scorer for Jersey and a great bloke:
and to have a beer with his folks who are still solid supporters of Jersey RFC. Great shame that Hendo wasn't around but he is now out in Hong Kong.
It would be great to see Tom & James back in Jersey with Ealing next season - provided its in the Championship!
