Challenge Cup Fixtures

The fixtures have been announced for the European Challenge Cup, and Falcons will start off at home aginst Brive on Saturday 22nd October, kick off 2.30pm.

The club have brought the game forward from the normal Sunday kick off due to the Tyne and Wear derby between Newcastle and Sunderland taking place on the Sunday at St James's Park.

The following weekend sees the short trip to the Borders (past evidence suggests that it will be Galashiels and more than likely on the Friday night) to meet up with ex-Falcon Semo Setiti and Lions past and present in Gregor Townsend and Chris Cusiter, before the Italians from Conad L'Aquila Rugby take part in the December double-header.

The Falcons fixture list is, therefore:-

October 22 Brive (H) 2.30 kick off (NOTE THAT IT'S SATURDAY!)

October 28/29/30 Borders (A)

December 9/10/11 L'Aquila (A)

December 18 L'Aquila (H) 2.30 kick off

January 15 Borders (H) 2.30 kick off

January 20/21/22 Brive (A)

As has already been mentioned on the message board, the first game against Brive looks to be the key one in the group.  A good start, and who knows...
