Player Survey Results: Harlequins vs Bath
Hardly a surprise there were some good scores here. Our game against Bath was a fine example of how you can never quite tell with Harlequins. People certainly felt the forwards did better than the backs, with a good average score of 3.79 for the forwards and 3.53 for the backs.
Harlequins vs Bath: Quins Drained but Triumphant
First off I hadn’t realised it was Jamie Roberts 50th appearance for the club, so a belated congratulations to him. He played a heck of a game too. Only 7,600+ turned out for this rescheduled fixture, but what a game they saw! Not pulsating rugby but certainly enthralling, a game that seemed much closer than the final scoreline evidenced.

Well that feels good, doesn't it? For those of you who never had to suffer watching the Bath pack take Harlequins apart, the sight of those rolling mauls forcing their forwards back would not have been so sweet. A great result and hats off to Nick Easter, the defence today (with one exception) was excellent. All those long wearying moments trying to keep Bath the right side of our try line - that's not the sign of a team that's given up!
Player Survey Results: Harlequins vs Newcastle
Well it can't get any worse than this, surely? Only 29 votes for a home game, that's showing a distinct falling off from the halcyon days of early season. Neither forwards not backs average a score of 3. Forwards marginally worse than the backs. Mark Lambert was an honourable exception for the forwards, score of 3.76 was very good in the circs. A returning Horwill didn't seem to have the impact we expected. Jonno Kitto excelled in the backs with a score of 3.45. Marcus Smith didn't even get a 3, but it was a tough day. Charlie Walker scored a 3.14, so well done there. Even the ref got just 2.79 and we're usually kind to refs. Of course 3 yellow cards might have something to do with that.
Harlequins vs Newcastle: Falcons Clip Our Wings
Trying to think of a way to start a match report usually takes a bit of thought, but this time, the final score is the headline and the only place to start. Taking account of current league positions a Falcons victory was always a real possibility but it was the manner of the Quins defeat that is most disturbing. Quins 10 Newcastle Falcons 28 was the result of a real workmanlike performance from the visitors with a Quins showing being best described as dire. Little wonder that a good proportion of the home fans showed their displeasure of the Quins performance by leaving their seats well before the end of the match. Not something I have ever done during my 20 years supporting Quins but I can understand why some do.
Player Survey Results: Leicester vs Harlequins
Interesting set of votes here. Basically 21 people rate the performance of forwards and backs as "adequate" (that's what I think a score of 3 is). Kyle Sinckler scores low compared with the average forward. Starting to worry about him. Nice score for Luke Wallace. James Chisolm gets a huge figure voting for him. Marcus Smith scores quite low for him. Nice to see Jamie Roberts' contribution recognised. And finally a score of 3 for Wayne Barnes shows we could just about tolerate him!

Well, I was really hoping that after Leicester, we might put in a good performance here. Unfortunately that did not happen. If there was a silver lining, it was that our defence did seem to be adequate. Unfortunately that was about all the positives from a pretty horrible day.
Harlequins vs Leicester: A tiger by the tail
Two things (of many) you don't do with a tiger, poke it in the eye or grab it by the tail! I thought we did both of these in our visit to Welford Road. We had the temerity to score the first try and then we had the tiger by the tail until we let go somewhere after the 60th minute! This was my first visit to Welford Road, and it was great place to visit. Nice beer, good food and friendly natives and a lovely stadium. I looked with envy and the terrace over on my left!

Well this wasn't all doom and gloom, we were still in the game at half time. Unfortunately I suspect the final score is going to affect the voting scores! :-)

Well, a match I'd rather forget than be publishing stuff about. Not many redeeming features there. Poor Dave lewis gets a score which will remain a record for some time to come, I feel.
