Wordsmiths arise!

The long hot summer is drawing to a close. September is just a week away. To most people this means the holidays are over and it is back to work/school. However for us egg-chasers it means the new season is nigh.

As usual we are calling for volunteers to write match previews and reports. Anyone who would like to contribute should volunteer on this thread, Then simply concoct a piece between 200-500 words as a Word document and attach it to an email. The addressto send it to is:

independent_tykes@hotmail.com

As we are only a week away from the Exiles game it would be great if someone who is planning to go to the match could do a match report.

The messageboard is in danger of closing down. We have not published a story for over 2 weeks. More worrying is the fact that over 100 people looked at this thread in September but only Gelbel volunteered an article.

Sorry mate, I don't go to games anymore so can't really write reports or previews with any legitimacy. Thats also why im nowhere near as active on the messageboard as i used to be. Also, the other stuff I used to write occasionally would now be steered by my belief that the club is up the creek without a paddle. I think my last couple of peices were quite negative and I hate being negative.

Hi JDH I look forward to your report. As the factual stuff is done pretty efficiently by Phil Daly on the offie, I suggest that you resist the temptation to write exhaustive notes during the game (thereby diminishing the match-day experience) and just give us your feelings/emotions as the game progresses.

I'll be honest I post far less than I used to because of the air of negativity on here and- dare I say it- ithe posts that seem sometimes as if some people want the club to fail.

If I want to be depressed I watch the news - Rugby for me is an escape from that reality. Put simply I can't get upset over a game of rugby (even the bad ones) when there are things like the Las Vegas shooting going on. All I really want to do is to support the team on the pitch in front of me.

But back to the original post, if it will help I will write a review for Richmond this weekend
