O/T Confused, you will be

So, as it stands, in Scotland and Wales you can't meet anyone, in Eng, you can meet one other person (unless you are on the tube), in N.I. you can meet with up to 5 other people. In Eng. you can go back to school, in the other 3 you can't, Care workers are classed as unskilled and it's all based on 'expert' advice

If Boris Johnson did cooking instructions: "put the chicken in the fridge at gas mark 5 for 20mph."

The more serious answer - the inner circle of the Cabinet are making decisions without any external consultation, sometimes even with other ministers, who are then expected to go out and talk about policy and decisions they've had no part in. This is what happens when you refuse to collaborate and try to take everyone with you.

I don't see the problem...whatever you do, consider social distancing.

How is it confusing?

You live in Wolverhampton which, the last time I looked/visited, is in England. So what is happening in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland doesn't apply to you. Simples!!

Devolve power of government to Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and you get them making their own decisions. Which is what they wanted. So no surprise that they will make their own decisions based upon the advice they choose to listen to/prioritise. Jimmy Crankie up in Scotland will do the opposite of what the Westminster government are doing as her default position.

I still feel that the governmental advice/instructions are far too influenced by the media and what they think should be done and when. No doubt that the message recently issued was confusing at best.

Remember that it could always be worse. We could be in the States and part of the Trump circus! (Sm14)

Even social distancing is, at best a wild guess. It's 2m. here, in Belgium, for instance,it's 1.5m, its impossible on public transport. They say that, if required, they will close platforms and stations if they they say there are too many people, which will simply force people out on to the pavement. Not to mention the chaotic school situation where one lot of experts say they should reopen and another lot say they shouldn't

When you hoping to get to Belgium?

Flights should be cheap enough or are you using the Eurotunnel?

Defo this. Decision making by meeejah - which has little to no analytical thinking. And by the inner circle of the Cabinet who have even less ability for rational scientific thinking - see how many of them have a scientific, mathematical or engineering education to even be able to comprehend the statistics and what those actually mean. Plenty of degrees in the classics and Latin - which are the square-root-of- feckall use at a time like this.

Arrh. That community of folk who always know best but can't even agree amongst themselves?

Throw in a dose of statistics and let chaos reign!

I'm amazed he was able to reach the levels he did with Brazil given his constant inebriation. You must be mistaken.

It seems that this thread proves that Idle is confused, at his age ( he is a bit younger than me) I am not surprised!

In all seriousness doesnt everyone realise that offices and large enclosed forced air buildings like terminals likely harbour any airbourne disease going... particularly if they are International..
So, we should have been practicing social distancing anyway...
especially if they are coughing and sneezing nearby...
We are just going to have to ramp that up a bit for a while...

And just to turn down the fear a bit..
4 mill confirmed cases worldwide...so not that easy to catch...
or...
loads and loads have already caught it and werent confirmed because the sympthoms didn't affect you too much so not that dangerous to the majority.
