The Times: Greatest Props

In their lockdown ennui, the Times writers are compiling lists of this and that. Stephen Jones and Stuart Barnes on best props today. Not sure about their qualifications for that but a rare shaft of insight from Jones:

9 Petrus du Plessis South Africa
A fine prop for Saracens, but he is in also because he typifies the magnificent character of so many props. From his hilarious appearances as an eastern-European wrestler, his ability to effect chameleon-like changes, and above all his passion for any club where he has played, make him stand out a mile. Joyous character in every respect.

The Times really are scraping the barrel aren’t they!

“I believe it might have been said before, but there is something special happening at Saracens, and I want to be part of it.” - Nils Mordt
