Quick note, the game against Sarries isn't until 4th October! No reason not to go fully loaded for both games.

Mr Friv, we actually donít play Sarries until 4th October - a break of 12 days from the Glos game - so team selection could be our strongest in both games.

Good preview Mr Friv. One question though, is Rhys Powlesland a wierd autocorrect or a nickname I am wholly ignorant about?

Weird autocorrect I'm obviously in need of a lie down from the lofty position of 3rd given the bloopers

If everyone is fit what team to you go for? Sure there may be an element of horses for courses but i think my squad would be as per below but some really tough calls esp in the second row and back row.

Watson
Roko
JJ
Redpath
RMc
Rhys
Spencer

Obano
Dunn
Stuart
Mcnally
Ewels
Ellis
Underhill
Faletau

Bench: boyce, walker, judge, stooke, bayliss, chudley, matavesi, tdg

Exceptionally tough on some players, for example w spencer, mercer, reid.

Lack of injuries currently does mean we are spoilt for choice in a few positions.

Ineresting to see if we get a sight of coko before the end of the season.

Bayliss or Ellis is a tricky one. Really like Ellis's attitude and he brings good physicality which could be important against Polledri but with the new rules then I think you need 2 mobile flankers like Bayliss and Underhill to prevent turnovers and penalties.

Have to say our 2nd Rows are seriously playing since lockdown - thought Charlie was exceptional against Sale, McNally always gives 120% (may be time to give him a rest) - Thought Will Spencer was really impressive when he came on and Stooke as he has for the past 2 or 3 seasons for me has been outstanding. I thought the only ones which is understandable looked rusty were Batty and Thomas.

Again I would throw Mike Williams into the mix - he offers a counter to Polledri and is a real enforcer when it comes to the tight.

I would not be surprised to see Underhill, TF or ZM, Williams/Ellis - for me that is a better balance than playing 2 opensides and an 8 and I felt this showed on Sunday when Josh suffered his head knock - we appeared a lot better balanced with the arrival of Ellis...It also improves our Lineout with Williams or Ellis.

We need the same aggressive defence as shown at Sale - we cannot afford to give Cipriani or that Glos backline an inch of room to use their pace.

If all fit I would go for a team such as:

Watson
Roko
JJ
Josh M
RM

RP
BS

Obano
Dunn
Stuart
Ewels
Spencer
Williams/Ellis
Zach M
Underhill

Reps - Boyce, Walker, Judge/Schuman, Stooke, Toby F, Chudley, Joe C (if fit), Tom De G

Pick the best team and then worry about the next match after this one

Agreed - a bird in the hand and all that. And trying to pre-guess what sort of Sarries team we will be facing is impossible.

Absolutely no reason not to with what i think are 9 and then 12 day turnarounds?

Hopefully gives time for watson to get back and any minor knocks we receive in glos match to clear up.

Hoping sarries win at the weekend!

Not sure whether to go all dynamic and fast in the back row and back line to counter their running threat or to stick to our strengths of a mostly beef based approach.

Any chance you could amend it to predict a big Gloucester win?

Bayliss clashed heads with TF in a double tackle early in the Sale game and left the field, I would be surprised if he is fit to play on Tuesday next...
