Cowley's sides have always had the upper hand over us, its about time we got one over him..Hopefully Colchester will still be at the beach on the opening day, I'm feeling optimistic and gonna say we will be opening our campaign with a 1-0 win down there,,Thought Colchester were the best team we faced last season, they well n truly beat us both home and away and i reckon this season they could be promotion contenders..Their busy little attacking midfielder Jack Payne is a player we should be wary of, for me he was one of the best players in L2 last season, kind of player i wish we had.

I would be happy with a point away against a potential promotion team. Far better to play such teams early. I think that our defence is a bit stronger than last year and that should bode well for away draws. I am less certain that there is sufficient value added to the forwards so away wins could be tough

When Tranmere were promoted through the playoffs , first NL then from League Two , they drew the opening game of the season. When they were relegated to the NL, they drew the first game.
When they failed to be promoted from the first season in NL , they won the first game away.

All in all, the first game is not an indicator as to how the season will pan out.

Not including the 3 seasons we had in the NL, when was the last time we won away on the opening day?
