Are Saracens at it again??

"Saracens' Champions Cup quarter-final place is in doubt because prop Titi Lamositele may have been ineligible when he played in January's Champions Cup win against Racing 92.

The defending champions are subject to a misconduct complaint after tournament organisers were informed by the club that United States international Lamositele's work permit expired the day before the match.

Saracens beat Racing 92 to reach the quarter-finals less than 24 hours after being relegated from the Premiership.

An independent disciplinary committee will hold a hearing at 18:00 GMT on Friday."

Is this just another little " inadvertent administrative error on behalf of the club"?

If, as the opening post suggests, it was Saracens that pointed it out, then it probably was an "inadvertent administrative error".

Sounds like a genuine mistake. Work permit ran out between the team being announced, and the match being played.

Not very professional though.

And very hard to miss given the systems in place nowadays. Poor show really.

They’re not very good at this admin lark are they! Keep an eye out at the BPA next year they’ll probably start with 16 players on the pitch!

A soft cop out by the disciplinary committee. Racing Paris denied a home fixture and Glasgow Warriors a place in the quarter finals because of Saracens mistake.
"Defending champions Saracens will remain in this year's European Champions Cup after being fined for fielding an ineligible player.

Saracens, who have been relegated from the Premiership for salary cap breaches, had faced a points deduction.

They admitted Titi Lamositele's work permit expired the day before January's Champions Cup win against Racing 92.

But an independent disciplinary committee chose to impose a fine of 50,000 euros (£42,000).

Half of the fine - 25,000 euros - is suspended until the end of the 2020/21 season.

It is not as if they are short of players.

It gets worse for the Fez Boys. Allianz have withdrawn from their sponsorship deal with Sarries a year early.
Not all that surprising, I feel.
