Trolls, can we just ban them.....?

I know people have different opinions and that is totally fine but some posters are consistent in provocation and should just be banned by administrator.

What does everyone else think????

Itís a symptom of an internet based discussion forum where the poster can hide behind anonymity, not just on this forum, not just rugby.

There is a fine line between unpopular opinion and downright antagonism.

There are regular posters of this forum who visit other club forums and post their views, some of which are not welcomed. The Tribe forum is not alone in this.

The best way to deal with trolls is to totally ignore the posting and show no reaction or any counter post. The frustration this causes the troll is unmeasurable. I suggest we all stick to this reaction.

The problem is the term 'troll' is very loosely defined and people will use it in a manner to suit their own perspective.

A person can (As Prarie Dog will likely testify) be labeled a troll simply going onto one of the forums here and sharing an opinion that goes against the herd mentality of the collective. Or alternatively they could simply be looking to provoke, In which case that would be the correct label.

Either way the distinction isn't always an easy one, It could be that the group isn't open to new ideas in which case it will seem like someone is looking to provoke, or that person may well be looking to provoke.

Yep. Plenty from here visit the Bath forum to rub our noses in it after a loss.

If you go on another board, we must think of how other teams feel, some would perceive you of "rubbing their nose in it" whether you are being constructive or not.
Some local boards have become just down right nasty since we've had some success, these board have short memories of them taking the P1$$ on this board in the early days, sometimes the worm turns, I do not think I have ever seen a Chief say on other boards what some individuals have said on here, and we all have idiots.
