BBC Newcastle will bring you full match commentary of Hartpury RFC v Newcastle Falcons from The Gillman's Ground on Saturday 8th February 2020. Ian Smith will be joined by the Man of Northern, Dean Gray with the guys on air from 2.25 pm ahead of a 2.30 pm kick off. The game will be broadcast on the BBC Sports App and on-line via the BBC Rugby website. The link will be [www.bbc.co.uk]

Last week they were unable to link to the stadium radio system but it is all sorted for the next home game. Just hope that they can find some electricity, a working phone line, and somewhere to sit for today's game.

Worth stressing it was their box rather than our lines which didnít work last weekend!

Iíd like to stress that I put the job fairly at the hands of the bbc to sort out the kit to be working before they hand it over to the guys.

The bbc need to make sure the guys have options for broadcasts.

Was only able to judge via the radio (yay! It worked!) but the ref sounded pretty iffy...sounds like a better performance from Falcons though but again they just...fizzled out?

Was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon at Hartpury. The ref was a bit poor in the first half but did ok second half . Hartpury were competitive in all parts of the field but in truth we were comfortable and in control . Solid defending again.
Their try was bang on half time and our players had just switched off . It was a lapse of concentration rather than poor defending.
The locals seemed to enjoy watching Sinotti going in his runs too!

Job done today by the sounds of it. We could make it a 2 horse race if we beat the Pirates next weekend.

Did Connon play well again today?

He just just kicked consistently safe . He is not world class but is reliable . Iím not sure he adds to our attacking flair like maybe Joel but he had a good shift this afternoon. His first conversion that he missed bounced off the sticks and the wind was starting to pick up so would give him. That one.

Watching todayís game it appears evident that the brief is to get the 4th try and the BP then try out new things with bringing on different players. The guys were obviously knackered today and had to defend well (again) but in terms of attack Iím not sure they got out of 2nd gear .
I think even against Championship opposition , premiership teams will have periods where they are put under pressure and itís a good work out for the defence but it does seem to be a constant plus for us.
In terms of Arscott, he was catching well but not sure If I saw him make a pass, his brief seems to have been to get the ball and take it into contact and that was about it
