Tom Curry as well but then Ben is literally a carbon copy.
Also, Marc Wilson would have featured.
Other then that I think it’s seems a full strength team

Jono Ross, Marland Yarde, Will Cliff and Lood de Jager also out but it's a very strong team.

Wow that is a strong team. AJ MacGinty another one that may be in the mix who is away. Akker van der Merwe off the bench is a very useful option assembling a decent squad there now.

Do you think the squad has been funded with the CVC money? Short term reward? Long term risk?

Not really sure what they’re trying to achieve... they should be playing a larger mix of younger players IMHO

imagine any of those guys get bad injuries...should be playing the probabilities

It's a balance of trying to integrate a lot of new signings prior to the Prem games

Missing players:

Injured/rested/suspended

Oosthuizen
Ross
Cliff
Redpath
Yarde

World Cup

Morozov
De Jager
T curry
Wilson
de Klerk
Macginty

So quite a few missing, but pretty much the best we can put out from the rest, still blooding youngsters like warr, Rodd and postelthwaite plus integrating new signings.

Hope saints put out a strong side as well

The keg. Saints we be playing 5 or 6 debutants in the game so it won’t be that strong

Is that out of necessity or just the way they are approaching the competition?

A bit of both. WE have at least 15 players missing either on World cup, still playing in Southern Hemisphere of long term injuries still working up to playing. ( Harry Malinder, Dylan Hartley, Mickey Heywood amongst the injured).
But also we are taking the approach that we are working up to the start of the season so the team will be getting "stronger" as the cup competition gets closer to the league start.
