Really not at all. The players are not the cheats, Lance was.
Of course the whole matter is very unsavoury and disgraceful. However reading comments on social media and some on the boards, is it quite disheartening hearing some wanting the death of the club, wanting to take it out on the players. Yes rugby has changed, itís become more commercialised, there is more money involved, more fans are being bought into the game however it feels the core of the gentlemanís game is being lost very quickly. Yes Saracens caused all this but not all deserve the utter vitriol spouted.
Itís not the players fault itís not the fans fault, I have great sympathy for them and do wish to see Sarries survive in some form.
Oh give it a rest. The players who agreed to these deals are complicit. Is it really possible that they didn't think to question why their pay structure is different than all other players?
As I've said before, ignorance of what was going on is not an excuse in law or otherwise. Especially so when there are fiduciary responsibilities involved, which we know there are.
