On The Up

A tremendous last ditch bonus point win sees us move up to 9th in the Championship table.

The 27-25 victory was hard fought throughout and going into the final phases it was tense stuff.

But up popped Huw Worthington as the pack was not to be denied in the last move of the game. The scores were level but the trusty boot of Will Hooley clinched the points.

We had been 18-17 down at the break with Ryan Hutler and Grayson Hart crossing .

A great win, can't remember last time we won a game with last play score. Arguable that Jersey lost the game by being a little too concerned with running down the clock with some silly time wasting, than pushing on from 17-25 up.

Great to also get the 4 try bonus point and lift ourselves off 11th. I note how we've scored 20+ points in 3/4 last games and in all of those won, which underlines how our attacking game has improved.

Still capable of silly errors, the try conceded following a charged down 22 drop-out was a gift, but this squad has developed a bit of gritty resilience now. Special mentions to Jordan Onojaife, Atkinson and Hirskyj-Douglas for great performances.

Cov got a good result against Pirates so a tough test on Friday night. Would be great to make up for disappointing previous results against them. Yorkshire Carnegie are going down now for certain as far as I'm concerned.
