Warriors v Blues

This week sees 2nd v 3rd for the second time this season. The last encounter saw Blues totally outclass Warriors and had won the game by half time. This week I am expecting a much closer affair where Worcester will be seeking revenge.
This is the type of game where Blues will either win or sadly what sometimes happens is we don't turn up and get clobbered! I also feel we should beat Worcester at home and they should win at home, so bonus points could be key.
In the race for 2nd Warriors are 1 points clear of Blues who are 2 clear of Coventry, so things are tight. However,
- Coventry are away to Nottingham, home to Cambridge, away to Pirates and home to Worcester.
- Worcester equally do not have the easiest ending with us, away to Chinnor, home to Ealing and away to Coventry.
- Blues away to Richmond, home to Chinnor and away to Ealing
This means losing with a couple of bonus points wouldn't be a disaster, but Coventry could also end up 2nd but would have to win all their remaining games.
In terms of the Blues team, I expect a similar one to that faced Pirates, Ward may be unavailable and I would like Lennon to start but don't see it. Also not sure why Slyvester seems to have gone out of favour, as I would have him ahead of Finch.

Very interesting run into the end of the regular season as well described by Try Blues. I agree on Sylvester as he seems to me the stronger ball carrier and is a great option at the line out.

Whilst the top teams slog it out among themselves, mathematically, Chinnor could slip in among the top four. Blues' energy levels and commitment shown in the Pirates game will be needed against all four of the remaining fixtures to ensure a home playoff. Each fixture has to be treated as a knockout game. Mathematically, Blues can finish anywhere between second and seventh, so every point will count. This group of players is outstanding and deserve the position they have. They've beaten Worcester this season who will be intent on redressing the balance. I am sure that Blues will be prepared for the onslaught and can draw on the memory of a great defensive effort against Pirates and a great attacking display against Worcester back in December.

Dare I say it, this is the game that may prove just how good this Blues team really is, we always raise to playing teams we perceive are better than us, so this week's game has all the hallmarks of a belter.
In the Pirates game I saw Bedford produce some of best defensive play I have ever seen, worth my whole season ticket in one game!
Worcester has only been beaten twice at home this season, Bedford don't travel well but that aside, the Blues are on a roll this may not be the only surprise they might produce this season.

Great win by Blues away at Worcester. This should help us secure 2nd with the other gmaes that have to be played. Need to back it up against Richmond now.
Another 79 mins performance from Heffernan (tight head for Warriors fans). Also Tuilagi again was immense as were a number of other players.
Not sure what happned to Smith, but Fish managed to step in on to the bench.

Good performance from the Blues, we've done what we need to do against Worcester this season, across both games we've gained 10 points against their 0. Agree Heffernan, Tuilagi, Titherington all had good games. Worth has been a worthwhile signing, he's. Very intelligent player.

Excellent performance again and once mire the defence was well organised and determined.
Four well worked tries to get us the full 5 points , which wasn’t a result I was expecting.
Worcester didn’t offer a lot as an attacking side.

I eagerly await the full match reports, pleased to note our defence proved a match for anything Worcester could produce.

I agree with Worth, very consistent and is a step ahead of most with knowing where you need to be and plays so many positions to a high standard. Wouldn't surprise me if he could actually fill in at fly half if ever required.
The way he also take the high ball by really accelerating into the jump so as he comes down the opposition may make contact and win a penalty is clever. When we lost James I was a little concerned we would lose some attacking threat but not.
The young saint Caqusau has also impressed and looks like he has potential.

What a performance from Heffernan. Certainly the best tighthead in the division, maybe the best player? We absolutely cannot afford him or Maisey to be injured for playoffs.

Ah ok, I wondered what happened, but also slightly risky with lineouts, although Herman didn’t start the best with them. It was funny how Smith was playing and replaced by Herman according to the commentators.

Simply a great squad performance from a squad that, prior to kick-off, I thought was light in some aspects. How wrong was I. Every player played above their brief and expectation. Deano making tackles on our try line. Titherington sprinting 50 yards to make try saving tackle. Special mention also to all the travelling Blues. You could hear them behind the posts. Great day for the club. Well played Mike and the [current] coaches. Excellent!

Perhaps a small mention for Amena Caqusau two tries from three starts.
On loan (?) from Northampton, in my humble opinion he looks a bit of a 'poacher' for the stray pass on the wing and has pace, he would make a great addition to next year's squad.

Another great performance and result from a Blues squad which goes from strength to strength. Great effort across the squad. Astounded by how Adamson managed to contort himself to ground the ball.
Defence was very good again. I was a bit worried when the referee warned Bedford about continual infringement. Day's words had their effect. Had they not done so and a yellow subsequently awarded, the outcome could have looked very different.
There were a lot of Worcester handling errors, possibly due to the pressure of the Bedford defence, together with Worcester having a relatively new squad still getting to know one another's game. Once they sort out the handling errors, their attack will be more potent.
Another away match at Richmond on Saturday for Bedford. They are in the relegation play-offs but will want to stay in 12th place to secure home advantage and will throw everything at us. We should not treat them lightly. Bedford's energy and performance levels remain high and must be carried forward into the next game to help secure second place. Both Chinnor and Trailfinders are going be tricky games so we must secure every point we can.

I’m not sure Richmond will be worried about getting home advantage, the playoff will be against London Scottish who play at the same ground…
