March 25 2020

Early days yet - lots of spaces to fill in.

New Signing 1
Retained 4
Leaving 5
No Information 25

Dan Powell
Full Back
No Information Started in 6 of 11 appearances throughout the season, scoring 2 tries.

Shea Cornish
Last Season DR Has made quite an impression since his debut against Rams back in December. The Exeter Academy player had put a firm claim on the No. 14 shirt. Hopefully, Albion will be able to secure his services for next season.

Josh Skelcey
Confirmed Re-signing 16 appearances last season bagging 9 tries. Seemed to have fallen slightly out of favour with JS at the helm. That said it looks like he will be hanging around as he put pen to paper signing on for 2 more seasons.

Dean Squire
No Information A regular in the middle of the backs. 4 Tries out of 22 appearances. Has now been with Albion for 4 seasons and just reached his 100th cap before the season was terminated. Now he has his mug, will he stay on?

Devon Jewsbury
No Information Failed to make any appearances for the 1st team this season.

Robbie Weeks
No Information Somewhat disappointing season for Robbie, making only 2 appearances off the bench. Scored a consolation try against Cinderford.

Connor Eastgate
Confirmed Re-signing 22 appearances from 25. Has been influential in a number of games.

Setareki Raumakita
No Information 6 appearances in a patchy season, scoring 2 tries. RN duties have kept him away from the Brickfields.

Jon Dawe
No Information What happened to Jon? No appearances after a fairly solid season in 18/19.

Dan Mugford
Fly Half
Departed A season to forget - we wish him well

Sam Morley
Fly Half
Last Season DR A regular in the No 10 shirt taking the position from Muggy after his injury. As the 'second' kicker in the side added 26 from the boot to go with his 4 tries. Hasn't made any appearances for the Chiefs this season - will he follow in the footsteps of Herbie and Pully and make the switch to Albion.

Cameron Setter
Scrum Half
No Information 20 appearances, 12 of which Mr Jones would euphamistically call a 'finisher', this stalwart has now completed 6 seasons with Albion.

Joe Snow
Scrum Half
Last Season DR The Chiefs Academy player has been a near constant in the 9 shirt since mid October, accruing 4 tries in the process. A single appearance for the Chiefs in each of the last two seasons could also be a candidate for a permanent move.

Alex Ducker
No Information Must have had an accident with the superglue at the start of the season as started every game on the left wing. 2nd highest try scorer in the squad with 11 tries.

Oliver Mulberry
Scrum Half
No Information 5 appearances off the bench has meant a quiet season for the 27yr old as Joe Snow & Cam Setter have tied up the Scrum-half position between them.

Javiah Pohe
No Information Kept his place at 12 throughout the season with one exception. Must like to pass the ball on as scored a solitary try.

Tom Putt
Full Back
No Information A smattering of 7 appearances with 2 starts Tom hasn't featured much in his first season back.

Pierre Thompson
Scrum Half
No Information Played in 3 out of the 4 initial games of the season but thereafter restricted to 3 appearances off the bench.

Koree Britton

Pete Ingoldsby
No Information Pete has progressed well since his promotion from the Academy, making 11 appearances, 4 of which were starts. No tries as yet..

Seb Tooke
No Information No appearances for Albion's first team as yet, but there is a lot of competion among the props. Maybe next season.

Alex Smith
No Information Another product of Albion's Academy, the loosehead prop made 3 brief appearances coming on as a late substitute. Kept the bench warm on a further occasions.

Jack Higgins No Information Jack appears to have settled in well appearing in every game of the season (3 times from the bench). Switched from loosehead to tighthead midway through the season

James Kenny
Last Season DR After 4 appearances at the tail end of the season Crossed the line once against Cambridge,

Will Norton
New Signing Will will return next season on a two year deal following a quiet time at Penzance.

Luke Chapman
Departed Sadly a long term injury results in Luke hanging up his boots. May continue to see him about as part of the backroom staff.

Ashley Crouch
Departed Heading for Christchurch, NZ for a spell at University of Canterbury

Max Norey
Last Season DR 4 tries in 11 appearances for the DR from Exeter. Likely will return next season as had significant layoff this term.

James Salter
No Information Top try scorer agaon bagging 13 - Will Jamie stay on for a fifth season?

Davy McGregor
No Information One appearance for the veteran Irishman. Will this be his last?

Dan Pullinger
Confirmed Re-signing Signed up for another 2 years was a regular in the 3 shirt until injury interrupted his season. Was making hs return before the season was cut short.

John Kelly
No Information A regular presence in the matchday squad. Versatility makes him a good asset. Did collect a red card though. Can Albion retain his services for next season?

Dan Collier
No Information The veteran of 4 consecutive seasons had a good run starting 18 games and coming off the bench for another, 1 try (sure he got more). Is there another season in the 35 year old?

Dan Swain
No Information His 3rd season at Albion saw Dan make 13 appearances in the searly to middle part of the season. Crossed the line 4 times.

Lewis Pearson
Last Season DR Started 21 games scoring 2 tries this time out. After three seasons at Albion and only had one run out as a Chief this season is it time to make his position at Albion a little more exclusive?

Rusi Tuima
Flanker/No 8
Last Season DR Well fancied as an England prospect, this must have been the last term we will see Rusi in an Albion shirt. 8 appearances and one try. A red card was a small blot in the copy book.

Scott Makepeace
No Information The navy man scored one try in his 13 appearances throughout the season.

Sam Daly
No Information Another frustrating season for Sam despite scoring 4 tries in the first part of the season, his last appearance was back in November. Will he stay on or look elsewhere?

George Mills
No Information George's 4th season saw him score 7 tries in 23 appearances. Never substituted.

Herbie Stupple
No 8
Confirmed Re-signing Extended contract to 2023. This was perhaps not his most illustrious season as injury has kept him off the pitch. Probably will benefit the most with the extended close-season.

Filip Perica
No Information One appearance off the bench was perhaps not what Felip was expected when he signed for Albion last yeat.

Ben Gulliver
Confirmed Departure Departed mid-season

James Scaysbrook
Confirmed Departure Took over from Gully and revived the fortunes of the club - moving on to Coventry.

Key: No Information Confirmed Re-signing Unconfirmed Re-Signing New Signing Unconfirmed New Signing Unconfirmed Depature Confirmed Departure Loan New DR

Don't delete any rugby you may have on your recordings, watch them through, and then you can watch them again when you are getting desperate for more rugby.

On a more general level, will there be a 2020/21 season, and how will this be made possible?

Of all sports, rugby .. and particularly the rugby scrum ... set challenges for player safety from Covid-19. Rucks and Mauls don't help either. Rugby is one where social distancing is impossible and close personal contact is inevitable - far more than basketball, soccer, or even rugby league.

Player testing is expensive and even then it does not pick up all of those in the pre-symptomatic stages of the virus.

Will rules be modified for 2020/21? Will we be forced to modify to a set of rules that will mirror the grey shadow of a game that is rugby league? Or do we simply wait?
