The Players v Supporters cricket match looms...
Demon bowler!

The third Players vs Supporters cricket match has been confirmed for August 4th at Bishopston Cricket Club. The players lead the series 2-0 and neither game has been particularly close with the players romping to victory.
This match will represent the 3rd time that the Supporters and Players have clashed at cricket with the Supporters yet to open their account.
In 2000, the Players romped home by 200 runs with some big hitting by the likes of Barry Williams, Simon Fenn and Scott Morgan putting the game well out of the reach of the Supporters. Morgan also charged in off a 30 yard run up and put the fear of God into most batsmen!
Last season was closer but still resulted in a comfortable 98 run victory for the players. Sean Marsden led the way with an unbeaten 50 but the Supporters didn't do themselves any favours by dropping about a dozen catches!
The game was clouded in controversy, however, when the Players' villainous skipper, Dean Dewdney, pulled an incredible stunt by producing a brand new ball for the players to bowl with instead of the chewed up piece of leather that the Supporters had had to contend with!
The game will take place on August 4th at Bishopston Cricket Club on Kellaway Avenue. The Supporters lineup is far from confirmed as we're always on the look out for players!
