Despite Sale Sharks missing their international contingent, they have won all their games during the Autumn Internationals, until today.

It's already been a very good afternoon, Bristol have not been phased by the gulf in league position. The backs have held their own against a Sharks line including Mark Taylor, Jason Robinson and Daniel Larachea, with David Lemi looking dangerous whenever he gets the ball in space. But there are only 15 minutes left and the lead's a nerve-jangling 8 points at 15-7. Then comes the defining moment and it goes something like this :

The Roadrunner picks the ball up midway inside his own half and heads off at best sideways and at worst heading back towards his own 22. Then with that eye for the gap and an injection of pace we've learned to love in such a short space of time, he's off, bursting through a gap in the Sharks midfield. The Chiropractor is on his shoulder as the perfect link to big Roy, who charges into the 22, before a deft underarm offload puts Pezza in space. Jason Robinson's close by, but Shaun backs himself from 20m out, holds off Robbo's attentions and touches down in the corner.

Played 9, Won 4, plus 2 bonus points = 18 points and 8th place.

Forget the Christmas turkey, save yourselves for the Boxing Day tigger.............
