Ongoing Projects

Funding / Sponsors - an important issue - to keep the network going SN need to get advertisers - they're not a big organisation like rivals were. Before I send Sportnetwork names of any potential site sponsors for them to talk to I want to check if they would be interested, I figure by asking first in person we might get a better response. Aiming to get some names by July. Player Profiles – If anyone wants to have a go at some email me! The profiles don’t have to be long, but what we want is the fans view - how we see the player - to differentiate the profiles from those on the official site. I’d like to get the bulk of these done by the start of the season - we can amend them as the season goes on. Monthly Player Questionnaire – awaiting a reply form Phil Daly re our first willing volunteer. The Pub / Headingley Guide – got some reviews from the MB but need to pull every thing together into one article. Research session on Sunday I think! Should be on in July. The Alternative Tykes History – Oopnorth’s Baby – I’ve had some bits and pieces in and will try and get this one sorted out this week. New Projects / Suggestions Photo Gallery – The photos we do have need sizing an uploading in a gallery format. I need to get hold of the HTML code. More photos would be a big help so if anyone has any good ones whether digital or normal ones could you please contact me. Supporter's Club – Need to contact the National Supporter's Association for info, establish the level of interest amongst Tykes fans, decide what we want a supporters club to do, can we fund it, and how will it be run? I’m putting this off until I’ve got some more basic stuff done on the site. More articles / ideas for polls etc… - please keep the stuff coming in, I’ll edit check spelling etc… so they don’t have to be perfect. Contact Section on local amateur & youth teams – in case any of our readers want to put their boots on. This would include contact numbers for local mini rugby / ladies / junior and amateur sides. If anyone has any info then please email me. Tykes U19/U21 + Academy Section – when &where they play etc… What the academy is all about. Player Stats – otherwise known as an excuse for me to get out my tape measure for those important inside leg measurements… No not really though it’s a nice thought… Season stats table, top try scorer / points scorer etc… The weekly / monthly fans award – “The Top Banana??” – nominate someone player / coach / lady who works in the ticket office / fellow fan… Those deemed worthy could be immortalized in this section. If anyone has any award name suggestions… Rugby Book Review – in time for Xmas – the “is this really worth £20?” review section… Bifta's Player Diary - depends on the club unless anyone knows a player willing to volunteer. Though we could do a fan’s one? Or come to think of it a spoof one a la Private Eye?
