Wolves ready to take on Wednesday in Discovery Cup

SHEFFIELD Wednesday and Wolverhampton Wanderers will today open the proceedings for the first ever Discovery Cup in Dundee. Dundee and Dundee United are also part of the four-way cup competition.

 

The trophy the teams will be playing for was unveiled earlier this month (picture courtesy of the evening telegraph) and both Wolves and Sheffield Wednesday will open the proceedings at 1pm today at Tannadice Stadium in Dundee.

The winner of the game will automatically go through to the final of the competition and will face the winner of the Dundee derby, which is set to take place immediately after the Wolves Vs Sheffield Wednesday game.

The runners up in both of todays game will battle it out for third and fourth at Dens Park tomorrow before the grand final.

Wolves have taken the full first team squad, with the only exception being Romanian International Vio Ganea who has been forced to sit out with an ankle injury.

*Should a game be tied, then a penalty shoot-out will decide the winner.
