Still waiting patiently, well almost

The start to this season has not gone to plan by some measure and there has to be some collective pulling up of socks to get the season back on track. I didn’t expect things to be marvellous but I had hoped to be clear of 12th place not clear in 12th place.
The impact of those returning from injury and the introduction of our Argentinian trio hopefully will be what the team need to pull out a couple of wins before Christmas. Not sure which games those will be but I ever hopeful.
There have been good bits to our play but unfortunately the bad bits seem to intersperse the better bits. The scrum has been the biggest worry and the tight head prop position in particular.
None of the current 3s seem to be unable to avoid giving away a couple of penalties a half, which is always going to put a team on the back foot.
The form of Chris Pennell has been the highlight of the season so far, he seems to have got back to the form he showed when he first burst on to the scene at a pre-season game at The Arms Park when he had me out of my seat shouting “Who the heck is he?” as he glided and weaved through the Blues defence unopposed!
The only slightly worrying thing is that his blistering form has yet to yield a try for him, although his offload to David Lemi in the game V London Irish was outrageous!
The next home game is always one of my favourites as it is Sale Sharks that are our visitors. I have some many friends amongst their supporters that is it always a great day at the rugby notwithstanding the result that is.. We never hold it against whoever wins.
Still hopeful, still shouting and still waiting, but as they say whatever will be will be!
