BELL TO STAY? |
|
Pontypridd tighthead prop has been expected to complete a
summer move across the border to Bath regardless of whether they stay up
or go down in the Zurich Premiership. However it looks increasingly likely
that a merger will go ahead between Bath and Bristol which leaves Bell
unsure about where he stands.
We could end up in a simi;ar situation to last season where Dunc had a move to Bath scrapped because of salary cap problems in England. This season many Ponty fans will be hoping that the same thing happens as Duncan is one of the best tightheads in the game and would be an asset to the newco. Also he could be required at the newco if the rumours about a move to Llanelli for Chris Horseman are true as that would leave the newco with one tighthead prop - Martin Jones. However, no-one is sure what Bell's situation is but i would think that if his move does again fall through then he would quickly be snapped up by the Ponty Bridgend newco. Anoter move is that of Shaun Van Rensberg. The number eight who hasn't been offered a place at the newco has decided to accept a one year contract with Gwent. |
