Blues End 2006

Cardiff look to end 2006 on a high with a win over closest rivals, Newport Gwent Dragons, at Rodney Parade.

Following Saturday’s fantastic 30-24 win over The Ospreys, Cardiff make the short trip up the M4 with every hope of picking up another win.

But with the massive injury list growing, Mike Phillips and Gethin Jenkins the latest casualties, and Martyn Williams facing a long suspension, it’s by no means the capitals first choice XV.

Meanwhile, The Dragons go into the match on somewhat a high point of their season. Captain Kevin Morgan was the highest profile player to pen a new contract with he region, plus they’ve had extended rest following a postponed trip to Strady due to fog. But in they’re flying pretty high in Europe, albeit the lower tier competition, recently beating Buraresti 29-39 in the Romainian capital.

As for their own injury situation, prop Rhys Thomas and playmaker Craig warlow face long abscences. We await team news from the Dragons.
