Cardiff Blues missed a big chance to climb up the Magners League in losing 22-3 to struggling Glasgow on Friday night.

The Blues are widely tipped as title condenters, but moved from 3rd to 4th with this dismal loss.

A Ben Blair penalty was the only thing fans had to cheer, as a limp and laclustre effort saw the scots score 3 tries, to Cardiff's none.

While the threadbare squad had been reshuffled due to 7 call-up's, they still boasted a side more than cabable of puuting Glasgow away, debateably with a bonus point. However their lack of clinical finishing, and any real eagerness to win, cost the travellers.

Meanwhile, fellow Welsh sides The Dragons, and Ospreys both won, putting the latter on even points. However, there was good news in so much that the Llanelli Scarlets, who have a game in hand over the Blues, lost to Leinster.

Dai's men now lie 9 points off Leinster, while it gets awfully tight from 3rd to 9th, with just 8 points seperating 7 sides!

This was indeed Cardiff last game until March as well, and though the break is much needed, and should welcome back the likes of Rhys Williams, Robin Sowden-Taylor and Andy Powell, it would've been far more comfortable going into the break with an away win.

Especially considering March provides a tricky month for the Blues, and away trip to Munster is followed to a trip to Stardy, before the month ends with the Anglo-Welsh semi-final against the Ospreys.

Still, there's plenty more rugby for fans to look forward to, with the 6 Nations kicking off this weekend.

Wales eagerly anticipate the visit of favourites Ireland, but like Cardiff, have a troubling injury list.
