Cardiff Blues welcome back Jamie Roberts to the inside centre birth for this weekends trip to Gloucester, while Martyn Williams comes straight back in at flanker and also wears the captains arm band with Tito unavailable.

The returns of Martyn, Jamie and Xav will provide a huge lift for the Blues ahead of their trip to Kingsholm on Sunday. However, there's bad news for Dai Young, as it proved one game too soon for Ben Blair, who's suffering with a broken hand, while Paul Tito is kept out by a knee ligament injury.

It's meant there are a few changes to the side that nearly beat Leinster in Ireland last weekend. Firstly, Jamie Roberts comes into an otherwise unchanged backline at 12. The 22-year old made a big impact in his return to action on Saturday and is picked ahead of Jamie Robinson, who must make do on the bench.

Spice continues along side Nicky Robinson at half back, Shanklin partners Roberts at centre, James and Gareth Thomas maintain on the wings, and the ever-impressive Leigh Halfpenny starts at full back.

In the front row, Powell partners Gethin Jenkins, coming in for Felise, Gareth Williams gets the nod at hooker. The ever-present Deiniol Jones starts with Scott Morgan at lock, the latter coming for Tito, perhaps a surprise choice over Bradley Davies who's on the bench.

Martyn Williams returns at flanker and takes the captaincy in the absence of Paul Tito, joined by Maama Molitika and Andy Powell, who for the moment at least is keeping Rush out of the side.

It's a tidy bench as well for the Blues, Tao' Felise, Rhys Thomas, Bradley Davies and Xavier Rush all have the ability to make a huge impact if brought on, Allinson, Sweeney cover half back with Jamie Robinson another who could make a difference.

Gloucester themselves have been fortunate with injuries ahead of Sunday's massive pool match, Olly Morgan and Mike Tindall passing fitness tests after picking up knocks in their loss to Newcastle on Saturday. They also welcome Ian Balshaw and James Simpson-Daniel back after long-term injuries, though Peter Buxton didn't make it. Blues target, Gareth Cooper, starts at scrum half.
