Tommy Bowe’s last minute interception try as the Ospreys beat the Scarlets may well have given the Blues a European lifeline, ahead of their trip to Ulster.

In a poor, but tense game, the Ospreys barely got the better of their West Walian rivals and with minutes left on the clock the Scarlets were camped on the Ospreys line just one point behind. But Bowe read Stephen Jones' missed pass and ran 60 metres to touch town for a vital 7 points, which denied the visitors taking even a bonus point back to Parc Y Scarlets.

It was a horrendously harsh result for the Scarlets, who had no territory or possession but did well with what they had.

However it is good news for the Cardiff Blues, who remain 4 points ahead of the Scarlets knowing a win out in Ulster tomorrow night would take an enormous amount of pressure off them. The Blues head to Parc Y Scarlets in a fortnight, a game that really could decide who qualifies, before a tough trip to Rodney Parade. They finish at the CCS against the formidable Munster.

Things still hang ominously in the balance for both teams, but Dai Young has picked a very strong XV for tomorrows rematch with Ulster. The match is being shown on S4C at 7pm on Saturday.

Blues: Ben Blair; Leigh Halfpenny, Casey Laulala, Jamie Roberts, Tom James; Ceri Sweeney, Richie Rees; Gethin Jenkins, T Rhys Thomas, Taufa'au Filise, Deiniol Jones, Paul Tito, Maama Molitika, Sam Warburton, Xavier Rush.
Replacements: Scott Andrews, Gareth Williams, Andries Pretorius, Martyn Williams, Darren Allinson, Dai Flanagan, Dafydd Hewitt.

Anyone hopeful? It's a very strong side we're putting out and we may take confidence from tonights result. I'm cautiously optimistic.

The trouble is Ben Blair is staying home with his wife as she is expecting a baby this w'end. So we won't have a consistant kicker out there, which could be our weakness in what looks to be a close game.

Oh yeah, that is bad news. Blair offers us a lot at full back, especially with his goal kicking too. I can't understand why Czekaj is playing full back, why not Leigh?

Blair's goal kicking has not been very consistent recently. Sweeney and HP are more than capable to do this job.
As for who plays at FB, why not Jamie Roberts?
