As the Cardiff Blues prepare for their biggest match since the Amlin Final in 2010, all the Blues fan clubs are united in calling on our fellow supporters to stand up and make the difference today. Make the noise and you will be heard!
The Cardiff Blues Supporters Club will be up in Section 112 of the Ninian Stand and are asking supporters to turn up and be the 16th man.
Here’s the passionate message from CBSC,
“Many thanks to those of you who made the trip with us to London Irish. Both the Blues players and coaches have remarked on how much of a lift the vocal support gives them, something they also commented upon for the away fixture in Paris.
This Sunday, we are asking you to turn up and make some noise! Whilst we base ourselves in Section 112, we truly hope all Cardiff Blues Supporters, from Cardiff and around the region and beyond can get down to the stadium and make this a truly special occasion.
We have spoken with the Blues with regards to the match day experience and are hoping that when (if!) the boys score, they will not play the loud blaring music but allow the supporters to create that atmosphere by screaming their(your) lungs out. This is where you come in!
Bring a flag. Bring a beret. Bring your voice. Bring a friend. Bring a win!
Be loud. Be proud. Be Blue!”
So again, we urge you to make today a memorable and successful day at the Cardiff City Stadium, and help push the Blues over the line and into the Heineken Cup Quarter Final.

I agree, it was great to hear a bit of noise, but surely the numbers raise concerns for all involved?
Was a shame they couldn't get the 4th try, Leinster away will be an almost impossible task I feel.
Still we're in the 1/4's again which is great.

Great atmosphere despite the low numbers. The fans in 112 made a great effort and towards the end they got everyone in the Ninian to stand up which is a bloody miracle!!

I too was sat around by 112, the atmosphere was very good for the most part, was real good to be in amoungst a noisy home crowd for a change - long may it continue, it makes the whole experience of going to the ground much better when the crowd is going like that.
On a ide note, did you see and hear the crowd for the clermont auvergne game yesterday, fantastic!

described as soulless in the guardian's report, but from where i was sitting, especially at the end, it was the best atmosphere in the CCS for rugby yet, couldn't believe that everyone stood up! would love to see what it looked like on telly? anyone able to upload a clip?

Yea, i totally agree the numbers are a concern for all Welsh clubs, how could anyone not see it!
I don't even mind that you go on about it, why not if it upsets you. We can't just ignore it.
But equally the efforts of those in 112 should be mentioned, and I prefer their method of dealing with the problem

It's difficult when there are no away fans to get a decent size crowd. Big pat on the back to the guys at 112 though and the whole crowd today really got behind the boys.

Sounded great in the ground but for whatever reason this never seems to translate to tv/audio coverage.
From the noise being made, I guessed we were around the 11,000 mark but quite disappointed with the quoted figure. At least all the true supporters sat at home behind their keyboards will feel happy.

Nice to see the Boys all tweeting their thanks and appreciating the huge amount of noise levels yesterday. It means a lot to them I know.
I agree Stu I thought there were more than 8,000 there yesterday as the Grandstand was packed. I am considering when I renew my season ticket to move across to 112 though.

Have to say I watched the game in the pub and it looked busy, by far one of the best attended games from what I could see, noise came across too - was good to hear actual support, wish I could have gone... Stupid exams though

Hello, new post to this board. Been watching Cardiff Blues & Rages for ! many years too many to remember home and away. Today's game at CCS was one of the best at this stadium congratuations to 112 for getting the crowd clapping it was a shame that Cardiff choir was in the oppostite stand - thought they could have sung? and made it even better. What we need is the same as (sadly to say London Irish) The way the drums played (too much for my taste but they roused the home supporters) and their commentor shouting his support and getting the crowd going (why doesn't ours do the same!)

Yea, I'm with you. The stadium could do a bit more to support those who make the effort. Also agree the it was one of the best.

Let's look forward - good game, victory and good atmosphere are just the things that will encourage more people to come and the infrequent attendee to come along more often. The reality is that we wouldn't have got any more at CAP so let's be positive and encourage others to come/come again.

Really like the 112 idea, nice to see people taking a proactive step rather than sitting around and arguing the same points. Good work guys here's hoping it does work and brings more people, and if not well at least there'll be a great atmosphere

Don't knock the fixture at Leinster Cardiff will make far money from it than they would have got from a home game. So maybe PT will spend that extra doosh on the squad......

Yes if it is played at the Aviva (which I would see as almost certain as Leinster won't get a home semi if they beat us) then we will make more money from the QF with it being in Dublin. That said their record at Aviva suggest we'd have far more chance beating Toulouse at home in the QF (again!!) but we have what we have and we are the only Welsh team in the QFs and IF the team click I believe we are one of the few teams who could beat Leinster over there. We may need them to be not at 100% but if we get in their faces as Wales did with Ireland in the RWC then hopefully we will see the same result. Chop their ball carriers and Sexton down before they get momentum and the chance is there - allow them to get lots of good front foot ball and they will beat anyone in Europe (including all the international sides IMO)

Here's an article where it's estimated the Leicester Tigers could have made close to £500,000 from their away QF against Leinster.
If the game was played at the RDS it would be a 50/50 split but as its at the Aviva Stadium they got 25% of the gate.

Interesting theory. The current situation is killing my club so I prefer to help my club by staying away and hit the perpetrators where it hurts, in the pocket. By attending you're only perpetuating the problem.

That's a very interesting theory PC79. I think you're wrong and you and a hand-full of others staying away on some kind of principle won't have any impact at all. Neither of us can be sure though.

Good to hear the coaches and players (via twitter) appaulding the crowd. Hopefully this is the start of a new relationship between players and fans.

The players are regularly on twitter thanking fans for their support and encouraging people to turn up and support their team. They are very appreciative of the efforts of the supporters club and project 112 and everyone who makes the effort to support them. They guys often respond to fans who want to ask questions or talk about how gutted they are if they have lost. Good guys.
Strangely they never tweet that they are grateful to the guys who stay away as the 'true fans of the club'

I think PC79 is a Dragons fan and trying to wind us up. By staying away and watching the games on television, all you are doing is financially supporting the BBC, S4C and SKY TV. Strange that these three organisations heavily support Welsh rugby including the Blues. Maybe if you wish to follow your arguement through, you should switch off your television when rugby is being televised, then you are not supporting the Blues or those that fund us.
I would like to bet that you will be watching the 6 nations in the comming weeks and where does that money go, back to the regions. So based on your posts, you will be watching Pobol Y Cym next weekend. I think not.
