Czekaj, Molly and Rees in for Munster Clash

3 changes for Munster
By Andrew Collins
February 23 2012

Chris Czekaj, Maama Molitika and Richie Rees all come in to the Blues side to face Munster tomorrow night, while Gavin Henson keeps his place at centre.

Ben Blair moves to the bench following three successive matches in his incredible come back from injury. The Kiwi full back got a rousing reception when he was substituted in last week’s Arms Park victory over Ulster, highlighting the huge regard Blues fans hold him in. Chris Czekaj comes in at 15.

Elsewhere, Xavier Rush drops out of the squad with illness. The number 8 had a barnstorming match-of-the-match performance at the Arms Park, but won’t be able to continue to build on a display that rolled back the years. Maama Molitika joins Martyn Williams and Mike Patterson in a strong back row.

Richie Rees come in at scrum half in place of Lloyd Williams. The latter will be on the Welsh bench at Twickenham on Saturday afternoon.

15 Chris Czekaj 14 Richard Mustoe 13 Gavin Evans 12 Gavin Henson 11 Tom James 10 Dan Parks 9 Richie Rees

8 Maama Molitika 7 Martyn Williams 6 Michael Paterson 5 Paul Tito (c) 4 Cory Hill 3 Scott Andrews 2 Ryan Tyrell 1 John Yapp

16 T Rhys Thomas 17 Nathan Trevett 18 Sam Hobbs 19 Macauley Cook 20 Thomas Young 21 Lewis Jones 22 Ceri Sweeney 23 Ben Blair

Not available due to injury:

Xavier Rush - illness
Casey Laulala - hamstring
Fau Filise - shoulder
Dafydd Hewitt - hamstring
James Down - ankle
Andries Pretorius - knee
Deiniol Jones - shoulders

Henson is in and that's all I care.

Good strong line-up nonetheless.

I take it hands you don't mean a winning BP?!
I agree a losing BP would be a great result, but having said that I thought the same last week and we won....

Great effort from the boys, special mention for Henson best performance in a Blue Jumper yet

Just what I said, he showed a few glimpses of how good he can be tonight. Martyn Williams too.

Tale of 2 halves. Such was the lack of desire and belief in the first 40, I nearly made my excuses and left! Second half was far more workmanlike and professional and had Parks pinged that penalty or the ref take the bold(but correct) decision and disallow their try for a clear forward pass, then we could have even come away with more than a losing BP.

Blues fan lost in Limerick!

Indeed, showed why B&B want to keep him so much but just need PT to table an offer and ward of the O's, he is holding out for an offer from us too.
Just a quick question, do peeps think we would have won with Tovey playing last night?

Why would we have ?
What has Tovey to do with the way they played ?

Disappointing to see the set-piece struggle yet again.
Some very notable performances from S.Andrews, M.Williams, R.Rees & G.Henson.

Henson played well, and R.Rees tackle count was outstanding, he outplayed Oleary, even though we were getting stuffed at the setpiece.
S. Andrews put himself about the field, and M. Williams still has a lot to offer our team.

Henson still needs to get involved more, however encouraging.

Couldnt agree more.
Richie played well, he handled and controlled being behind our retreating pack, especially in first half, very well again.
If he leaves next year, who is going to the job that he is doing so well when Williams is away a lot of the time ?
The so-called coaches should try and keep him.

The coaches as clueless as they may be are being given no say in who stays or goes it is 100% the board, remember B&B are in charge until the end of this season so they may not be here either

Dont worry, they will be there next season, reason being they are cheap as chips.
Clue is in the second paragraph .

What !
The guy is absolute pants. Never made a first or second place in any club he has been at, there has been lots of them.
Rhys Downes is a better proposition.
All i hope it is a rumour.
