Josh Turnbull (Back row) from Turks
Manoa Vosawai (Blindside/Number 8) from Treviso
George Watkins (Wing) from Bristol
Rumoured:
Gareth Anscombe (Outside half/Fullback) from Chiefs
Jevon Groves (Second row/ Back row) from NGD
Matthew Morgan (Fullback) from Bristol
This is actually the busiest period of recruitment for a while. And much easier on the eye than the last big rush of signings two years ago - when the budget was slashed.
Hopefully it isn't complete. From my point of view, the front five still needs strengthening and a utility back who can slot in across the three quarter line would be very useful. And, if we don't manage to sign Anscombe, a strong back up 10 is probably still required.

I think MM has put such rumours to bed - in fact without the interview to hand I'm pretty sure he was explicit that he will be with Bristol next season. Anscombe is looking more likely judging by story on Planet rugby.

I home MM is not coming. He's just signed for Bristol. If a player is prepared to renege on a contract so soon it does not speak much for their commitment.
I would hope MM has better standards than that (and am sure he has).

Yes, although he didnt travel in the end.
He hasnt officially been announced, so Ive included him as a "rumour". I do things by the book damn it.

It wouldnt be that new. Another example would be Tovey. Under contract but we released him when he said he wanted out. Why keep a player who doesnt want to stay?
With Morgan, if an arrangement was made, I think he'd be here to challenge for a Wales shirt. In which case we could probably expect some effort from him.
I suspect its still a possibility that Morgan will come. But only if the new PA is sorted in reasonable time. Same goes for Anscombe and probably any other signing we want to make.

Is Gareth Davies still at the Blues? I know he was linked to London Welsh? If he is do we really need extra cover at 10 if Anscombe signs? As we also have Patchel! Thats two quality 10s and a good back up in Davies no?

sorry i don't buy any of that, if MM wanted to stay in the Wales shop window he should have excepted Dragons contract which was more money thatn he was on at O's, but no he decided to take a bigger one over the bridge, Before anyone says you can't blame him for that lots of players turn down bigger offers away from Wales to stay in the "shop window", Scott Williams & Sam to name only 2, he has made his bed as they say

Well said cardifflose. MM saw Premiership rugby coming to Bristol and saw that as a good career move (I don't blame him). That did not prove to be a good bet. That's a shame. As you say had he been wanting to be in the frame he'd have stayed in the Welsh game at his stage in his career.
Re GD he's not being mentioned in the LW stuff I wonder if they decided he was not what they wanted in the Premiership it appears he has stayed with us. I can't imagine he have gone when it seemed probable that he would be in the championship and then chose to pull out with premiership rugby on offer. So It would seem more likely that he no longer fitted in LW's plans.

I get the impression Anscombe is coming as a 15.

Day to day running of Cardiff Blues will not be effected by a lack of a PA, unlike some in RRW, we are part of the stuff it lets go it alone gang, its actually very clever to do if we can afford too, we have been nominated to play in P12 & LV for 14/15 so we will and get the due monies from them, come 15/16 if we do not get nominated then comes in the whole restriction of trade thing, or more than likely the cwtching up to BT will take full affect and hello mr jeff perm

I am aware that Jevon Groves hasnt been officially announced but theirin lies the confusion; in the wales team for the commonwealth 7's he was listed as a cardiff blues player and Richard Smith alluded to him as returning to the blues! So, will he or wont he.
A recent perusal of the cardiff rfc squad revealed a certain James Goode as a second row. Is that the James Goode that was in the blues academy, then impressed in new zealand and then went to newcastle.
And big question, will there be any more signings?

Same on. I dont think he's a cardiff blues player though. Useful for the prem side.
Ponty site also referred to Alex Webber as a Cardiff Blues player allocated to them.

20 players allocated to Pontypridd by Cardiff RFC. Pretty fair commitment by Cardiff the the clubs it has the "responsibility" for.
