Sam Norton-Knight to return

Former Cardiff Blues fly half, Sam Norton-Knight looks set to make a shock return to the region ahead of the 2015-16 season.

It’s believed that Norton-Knight, 31, is coming in to play stand-off, with current incumbent Gareth Anscombe being switched to full back following the departure of Joaquin Tuculet.

Since leaving Wales in 2010, the Australian back spent two years in Japan with Panasonic Wild Knights, before joining rivals Kubota Spears where he made no appearances (honestly!). In 2013, he returned to Australia with Western Force, where he featured against the touring British and Irish Lions.

Norton-Knight made 19 appearances at the Cardiff City Stadium in 09/10, scoring 18 points, and the news has been welcomed by fans of the Ospreys, Scarlets and Dragons.

WalesOnline journalist Andy Howell described the move as “another sign that Welsh rugby is in a healthy state thanks the dynamic leadership of Roger Lewis”.

Happy to see the return of Cardiff’s prodigal son? Have your say below.

You shouldn't even joke about this. It's bad enough as it is.

This is so much worse when you haven't read the forum until today and didn't initially realise it was an April Fools.

Just going to change my underwear.

I would take him at 15 this week over Geriant Walsh or Gareth Davies!
