2 Blues Arrested

Two Cardiff Blues player were arrested in town on Thursday 15th, just a day after the great win over rivals Llanelli Scarlets. The pair were involved in a street fight after being provoked by 3 men in their early 20s.

Cardiff Blues man of the match, Mike Phillips and team mate James Goode were taken to the police station after the fight was broken up by officres.

The fight came about after the 3 men, not linked to the region, threw a glass bottle at one of the players, and though it did not hit anyone, provoked a reaction from the two 23 year olds.

The players were released without charge or caution, and the Blues have decided that no further action is to be taken.

Robert Norster said in the official statement,

"We have also conducted a subsequent internal review of the incident and concluded that no further action is to be taken by the Region. No additional comments are to be made and we now consider the matter closed."

Both players are available for Saturday nights game against Glasgow.
