The Dragons were hammered at home in their first regional home defeat against Welsh opposition, the hero for the Scarlets was debutant Ceiron Thomas who has starred for the academy this season. Most Scarlets fans have continued to ask the question why they are not playing more of these talented young players.

The Ospreys won an entertaining game against Ulster in the last pro rugby game at St Helens, Shane Williams was awesome and gave a timely reminder to Sir Clive.

Around 20,000 fans gathered at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff among the guests were the players, Charles and Camilla, Max Boyce, Aled Jones and many more.

The event raised around £50,000, which will be donated to the Toby Lloyd Cockbain Foundation, which was set up after the death last year of the one-year-old son of player Brent Cockbain, and to the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust.

Llanelli fans face a busy day next Saturday with their regional side facing Neath Swansea Ospreys in the Celtic Cup semi-final and the semi pro team engaged in the Konica Minolta Cup at the Millennium Stadium.
