England Rugby in September 2006 this month saw our England Ladies taking on the world in Canada for the IRB Women's Rugby World Cup.... and Our Claire taking on the Far East...........

England Rugby in September 2006 this month saw our England Ladies taking on the world in Canada for the IRB Women's Rugby World Cup.... and Our Claire taking on the Far East...........
Our England Women got off to a great start in their opening game at the 2006 Rugby World Cup in Edmonton, It was a difficult game as the USA are a very tough side but our girls won through England Women Win Opener up next was South Africa in the next round of the No less than five Wasp ladies in the starting line up including Sue Day as Captain England Women vs South Africa Preview England Women Rugby World Cup.
England ladies romp through against South Africa in Canada, with a 12 try fest. Captain Sue Day led the way with four tries. England Women beat SA RWC and secure a place against the Black Ferns of New Zealand - England Women into the Final of the RWC England Women's Team for Final
However, it was not to be........ England Women's Rugby can be very proud of their excellent performance against the New Zealand Black Ferns. England's women were so close they could almost touch the Rugby World Cup. A round up of their reactions.... England Women lose Final
A Big Thank You to Our Claire
Unofficial England Rugby would like to say a Big Thank You to Claire for all her hard work over the last couple of years. Claire joined us in November 2003, producing some wonderful photographs and re-vamping our photo galleries, as well as producing thought provoking articles. She also had the knack of being in the right place at the right time for book signings and managed to get an exclusive with non other than Sir Clive Woodward in his hey day.
I am delighted to advise that Claire has been asked by her employer to take on a special assignment, which is both demanding and exciting and also means she will be spending a great deal of her time abroad. Understandably Claire now needs to devote more of her spare time to her family when she is home. Of course this does not mean she will not still pop in on the board every now then and maybe do the odd article but it will be perhaps less frequent, with this in mind I am leaving Claire on publisher status for the site. I have come to know Claire and her family well over these last few years so much so that I look on Claire as a true friend.
May I thank you Claire along with Patrick, we wish you the very best of luck with your new adventures in the Far East but most of all in this troubled world of ours, ensure you keep safe and well.
