England 'A' v USA at Thunderbird Stadium, Vancouver. Jim Mallinder has made many changes to the starting line up. Balshaw will pay at 15 replacing Horak. England 'A' will be hoping to lift the inaugural Churchill Cup at Vancouver’s Thunderbird Stadium.
“We have picked a side to beat the USA,” said Mallinder. “I suppose the one change that does stand out is at full-back. Mike Horak had an outstanding game last week and scored four tries. But my feeling is that we have three very good full-backs and we have had two good performances from Dan Scarbrough and Mike so we are going to give Iain a run there.”
Tom Palmer, who injured his knee, will fly home on Thursday and will not be replaced for the tour to Japan next week. Mallinder added: “It’s very tough for Tom and we fell very sorry for him. There is a problem and we don’t know the full extent so it makes sense to get him back home to see a specialist.”
