This was an up and down month for England. August 30th, will live in the memory as the day England's unbeaten record of 14 straight wins - bit the dust!
AUGUST IN REVIEW: This month saw the general release of tickets via Ticketmaster for the
England vs. France match at Twickenham on the 6/9/03 (Now sold out!). The ARU
also put up extra tickets for the Rugby World Cup games, the only disadvantage
here you had to be Australian to buy them!. Congratulations to those fans
who managed to secure tickets. *** Clive Woodward teased us all, stating there would be two new caps in the side
that would play Wales when talking toAndrew Titheridge of Zurich
Rugby. *** Wales vs. England 23/8/03: We all fretted lots of thoughts before the match!
Who would play at 10? Who would be on the bench? The team was announced
and to all intents and purposes it was a Second Team however, that team went
onto display an excellent performance against a lack luster Wales team. Result:
Wales 9 v England 43:Match Report *** Barney Burnham our
Unofficial England Roving Reporter Secured an Exclusive interview withSimon Lazenby (Sky
Presenter) - who seems to think that Northampton will be the team to watch this
year in the Zurich Premiership. We shall see, I hear you all cry! *** Pictures - lots of excellent pictures sent through to us this

bar. *** France vs. England - 30/8/03 again we pondered who would play at
10? We did not have long to wait - it would be Paul Grayson (Vice Captain)
and Walder on the bench. Clive once again explained his reasons for the
team selected. Result:France 17 v England 16 - In a hot and sultry
atmosphere in Marseilles, England were unable to deal with the French! The
French were deserved winners and all credit goes to them. So the unbeaten
record has gone! Well let's start it all again I say, with a win next week for
the return match at Twickenham! ***

Ahh... a 'Bitter Sweet' Month August turned out to be for us all however, that is Sport at the highest level. Win some, 14 to be exact and lose some only 1 up to now. Lots more to come next month and its going to get even better - I just know it!
