October saw the start of the Rugby World Cup - here is a review of England's highs and lows down under in Australia this October 2003!
OCTOBER 2003 - IN REVIEW:
October kicked off with the Rugby World Cup and Georgia most definitely on our minds England v Georgia Report and photos!
We geared up to the match with the England Rugby Supporters Club (ESRC) Official Supporters Songs!
David Gough, England Fan who lives in Perth became our adoptive (Roving Reporter in the field). David was our contact with the England Team, he sent us some excellent reports on the build up to the matches and some wonderful photographs,. England v SA Report with Photos! Once again we would like to thank David for his input, as
Zurich announced that the would give £10.00 for every point England scored, to the Nick Duncombe Memorial Fund and by the end of October, England had amassed £2550. worth! England Play for Nick!
And during this month our site was given recognition by the Official England Rugby Supporters Club General Manager Tom Hill - who looked around our site said he liked it and hoped we could work in tandem in the future. Tom gave the go ahead for our site to have an ESRC - Official Supporters Link! - directly to the RFU site and has promised to keep in touch with us.
Clive talked a great deal through lots of troubles and strife's but he and the team got on with the job in hand and generally laughed at the media - until the wonderful showing of Samoa! - that nearly gave England the fright of their lives. England were accused of cheating for 34seconds - now know as the Lugergate Affair! - Clive and delegation took themselves off to Sydney with top lawyers in tow - were fined £10,000 pounds and Nigel Reddin given a 3 match touchline ban.
One special feature this month was our Rogues Gallery came into being. This is a Photo Gallery of the posters who visit our site and the regulars who chat on our message board. Some mean looking people here!
and so the Rugby World Cup marches on and we will have a great deal more to look forward to in November....
