Boro's no to Bees, yes to FA

PROPOSALS for a groundshare between Solihull's two major sporting clubs have been thrown out by the Solihull Borough FC board.

The club's top brass rejected a proposal from Pertemps Bees Rugby Club on the grounds that it wasn't an appropriate time for the club.

The Boro board confirmed their intentions in a meeting last week.

"We considered both the operational and financial implications of the move and reached the decision it wasn't an appropriate time for the club," said Simon Pow, Boro's Chief Executive.

The Pertemps Bees were not the only party interested in Damson Park's impressive pitch.

The F.A recently confirmed England's Under-17 international side will be training there on April 29 and 30 and May 1.

This comes in the light of a recent Women's FA Cup semi final, which attracted a crowd

of 1,234, and an up-and-coming England vs. Sweden women's international.

"I am absolutely delighted the FA have decided to honour us in this way.

"It is an accolade not only for this club but for Solihull as well.

"My thanks go to our groundsman Martin Pinner, who has done such a superb job in keeping our pitch in such first class condition," said Boro president Joe McGorian.
