Bees swoop for Welsh Ace

Pertemps Bees have completed the signing of specialist inside centre Scott Williams from Newport after he failed to secure a professional contract with the Gwent Dragons.

Pertemps Bees have completed the signing of specialist inside centre Scott Williams from Newport. Williams impressed during last summers U21 world cup, staged mostly at Oxford and joined his home side Newport after he failed to secure a professional contract with the Gwent Dragons Welsh Provincial Site.

Bees Boss Phil Maynard said " Scott is very highly rated in Wales and we believe he has a very bright future at Sharmans Cross Road".

Born in Cwmbran, Scott took up rugby when he was 6 years old and is Newport through and through having joined the Newport Youth side aged 16 after shining for the Wales U16 side that played England U16s. Scott has played for Newport at youth level and U21 level.

In December of 2002 Scott was part of the Welsh U21 side that recorded a comprehensive victory over New Zealand U21s and has played for Wales in the U21s 6 Nations and U21 World Cup.
