PERTEMPS BEES SIGN WOODARD

Pertemps Bees have recruited Wales rugby league international winger Lenny Woodard as their sixth summer signing.

Woodard, who has played rugby union for Ebbw Vale, Pontypridd, Pontypool and Abervon, joins Pertemps Bees from the Bridgend rugby league club.

He has played union for Wales A and also toured South Africa with the Welsh senior squad in 1998 although he did not play in any of the internationals.

"Lenny has been a proven try-scorer in Wales for a number of years and he is now keen to play in England," said Phil Maynard, the Pertemps Bees' director of rugby.

"He is well known to Mike Davies who recommended him to me. We've been looking for an experienced three-quarter since we decided to release Luke Nabaro and Mike reckons that Lenny will fit the bill."

Woodard is Pertemps Bees' second signing from Welsh rugby following former Newport centre Scott Williams to Sharmans Cross Road.

The other new recruits are former Wakefield prop Martin O'Keefe, ex-Worcester and Leeds fly-half Tim Walsh, former Worcester lock Dan Zaltzman and centre Simon Martin (Coventry).
