Ed Orgee will captain the newly-formed Pertemps Bees/Stourbridge combined midweek XV in their first-ever fixture against Rugby Lions at Webb Ellis Road on Wednesday September 14 (7.30pm).
Orgee missed last Saturday's National League One victory over Plymouth Albion because of an eye injury sustained in the opening match of the season against NEC Harlequins. He will use the midweek XV game as a fitness test ahead of the league game against London Welsh at Old Deer Park on Saturday September 17.
Orgee will lead an experienced side that includes former Newcastle Falcons number eight Jim Jenner and Tongan international flanker Hese Fakatou. Close season signings Neil Chivers, Joe Horn-Smith and Guillaume Scheuller, who were all recruited from Orrell, will also play at Rugby.
Adrian Olver, the former Coventry prop and captain, has been named as a replacement and will have a fitness test before the game. Olver has yet to play for Pertemps Bees this season because of a back injury.
The Stourbridge contingent includes prop Keith Fowles and Staffordshire lock Ali Muldowney plus replacements Cameron Mitchell - a former Pertemps bees player - Barney Eastwood, Greg Summers and Ryan Watkins.
The combined second XV has been created to give regular rugby to first team squad members from both clubs. A full fixture list for midweek matches is being worked on.
Pertemps Bees/Stourbridge Combined Midweek XV: 15 Aaron Takarangi; 14 Allan Gill, 13 Alex Grove, 12 Mike Davies, 11 Roman Piotrowski; 10 Joe Wearn, 9 Neil Chivers; 1 Keith Fowles (Stourbridge), 2 Ben Gerry, 3 Joe Horn-Smith, 4 Ed Orgee (captain), 5 Ali Muldowney (Stourbridge), 6 Hese Fakatou, 7 Guillaume Scheuller, 8 Jim Jenner.
