B&I Committee Qtrs Decision
By ML
January 23 2017
So, The Cornish Pirates have qualified for the quarter finals of the British & Irish Cup with some excellent performances and top the runners up table on points difference.
Now everyone is eagerly waiting for the draw to be decided by the committee, I wonder how they do it!!
Do they actually meet up or do they have a flock of pigeons on standby.
Who would you like it to be, a trip to Jersey maybe or another trip to Ireland or Wales?
WE will find out in due course and whoever we are drawn against, we have a team that has the gas to go all the way and supporters on standby to book their travel & hotels.

Hmmmm..... the 'draw' as announced is simply 1v8, 2v7, 3v6 and 4v5 I think. Now that's either a pretty big co-incidence or it was always planned to be that way. In which case, it's not really a 'draw'.....
Nothing on the RFU site... but Jersey are reporting it on their twitter account too.

Mullion, as I intimated on another thread, it is fixed but not to produce the draw you suggested. It has been ever thus so it was, IMHO, 100% predictable that the two Irish teams would be "drawn" together. I don't think it's unreasonable actually. The organisers, charged with promoting the tournament and attracting sponsors will be keen to maintain a much interest as possible for as long as possible. So they have now guaranteed that there will be at least one Irish team in the semis. What they will looking for is for the best two supported English teams to play each other in one of the semis and the other countries represented in the other. So if they will want to see Irish v Pirates and Irish winner v Scarlets.
I would be interested to know how the costs and revenue are divided up at this stage. Presumably we are in prize money territory now, but do we have to fund the Jersey trip on our own and get no share of the gate? If so, that was an expensive conversion miss v Irish
