Congratulations to Ed Scragg on his selection when he will be making his first championship start. A few changes to freshen things up after last week's defeat in what will be a difficult game against a much improved Hartpury side.

Nervy as always, but we kept going. Tom Kessell made a massive difference. Gloucester were very good, it was a great win in very difficult conditions. Win next week and the league is ours.. simple.

It wasn't our best performance of the season but after being 7 pts down at half time we managed to find a way to win the game with a much improved 2nd half. The sides were fairly evenly matched in the set piece and Hartpury gave a very disciplined defensive performance to deny the pirates field position.
A hard earned 5pts and it's still all to play for as we travel up to Ealing for a game that could decide the championship.

As Welshpirate says Kessell made a big difference as did the other "finishers". We are a very strong second half team and it was a deserved victory against a very good Hartpury team.
Massive game next week at Ealing - another tough assignment but we are capable of turning them over if we get it right on the day and get the rub of the green.

Stalwart i agree Kessell turned the game around against a good team.

Very good game to watch despite a difficult and unpredictable wind. I would venture to suggest that Hartpury’s was the best away performance we’ve seen at the Mennaye this season.

Hartpury came out of the block from the start of the game and this appeared to knock the Pirates with their speed. Pirates came back and then once again lost control a little. The second half was a slightly different story as the Pirates came out with a plan to take on Hartpury better. Agree, Kessel arriving on the scene was a game changer and thank heavens we did not have about 15 minutes remaining for the 2 x yellow cards. The team will need to make a step up for Ealing match and have a good game plan ahead of how they are going to play the whole 80 minutes without any yellow cards against them. Discipline will need to be at its peek.
