Captain John Stevens is set to make his 100th appearance.
There are just two changes in the starting line-up from the one that ran out at Nottingham last weekend, with Alex Schwarz named at scrum half and Rusiate Tuima selected at number 8 in place of the injured Seb Nagle-Taylor.
Amongst the replacements, Tommy Wyatt should make his first appearance for the Pirates this season.

Always a tough game against a Bedford side who are willing to attack from anywhere on the field.
We will need to make sure our kick/chase options are first class to reduce their counter attacking opportunities.
Conditions look good for an open game of rugby between 2 well matched sides.

The best team won, too many penalties yet again IMO but strangely no yellow cards. That said there were some very strange decisions from Sir!! No real complaints, well done Bedford.

Pirates seemed to drop out in the second half and giving away so many penalties. Admit with no VAR etc Bedford gained a try but, best team on the day was Bedford who always play a good game with us either at home or away. Monday could be interesting at training!!!!

After overcoming a bright start by Bedford who led 6-0 early on the pirates got themselves back in to the game and deservedly went in ahead at half time.
Full credit to Bedford who gave us a rugby lesson in the 2nd half on how to use the ball in hand, exploiting space and taking their chances.
We were well beaten and need to regroup quickly ahead of a very difficult game next Friday in Jersey.

Bedford definitely had the edge in the backs and we were outclassed in the second half. As P15 says, a very tough trip next weekend. But this is a new team and we must be patient, they will take time to gel.

It's a long time since we saw the Pirates ship 41 points in a home game. I needn't add to the above comments. Very disappointing !! By the way, does anyone know how the poor people are who were involved with the car v motor cycle crash outside the main car park?? It looked pretty serious and quite upsetting.

Motorcycle rider and pillion had shoulder injuries and were taken off in an ambulance. Not heard any more. Pirates and Bedford medics were on the scene very quickly. The injured were French and the Bedford medic spoke fluent French apparently! Fingers crossed they'll be OK.

Thanks Stalwart. It was quite upsetting seeing both riders laid out on the road/pavement with heads being restrained. We were also concerned at the length of time taken for the ambulance to turn up, but that's another story!!

There was another one on Police Station hill just after - someone laid out on the road, 1 policewoman directing traffic and 2 others taking care.
