The Pirates have exceeded our expectations this season and travel to Bedford sitting 2nd in the league whilst Bedford are 4th, with just 3 points separating both sides.

Matches between Pirates and Bedford are usually high scoring and entertaining affairs and with the weather set fair this looks likely to be another such encounter, hopefully, the boys will have the necessary powder in their locker to come home with a win.

Injuries to captain John Stevens and fly half Bruce Houston mean Tom Pittman starts at 10 and Hugh Bokenham moves into the back row.
Bedford are always a difficult team to beat at home but hopefully the boys confidence is high after last week's excellent result at Coventry and we can get another win on the road.

Outstanding performance by the pirates to get a gutsy 4 point win on the road.
Having taken a 20 point lead into half time we had to show tremendous character in the 2nd half to deny a dangerous Bedford side the win.
A fantastic result on the road for the 2nd week in a row, well done to the whole squad and coaches.

Unfortunately mixed up fixture dates so unavailable to attend this encounter. All said and done the Pirates performance was superb and to be 27 - 7 at halftime thinking we could be in for the BP at the ned of the day. Good strength of character by the steam to hold on till the end and another fine performance. Next week more than happy if we can come away with a BP and hopefully with a good wind behind a win thrown in. Well done lads keep it going.
