Strong team and bench. No Wedlake - that's a shame, but it's still a quality squad. Lovely to see Moyler back.

This will be another tough game on the road against a Doncaster side who beat us at home earlier in the season.
Since that game we have improved and our recent away form has been good so our confidence should be high.
Discipline, defence and taking our chances will be key.

Free is generous - but being there live will be better!

Will be present and looking forward to another tough encounter. Will need to allow extra travel time as the race course have a few races on during the afternoon.

In a feisty encounter where ex-pirate Maliq Holden received a red card the pirates let a 19 point lead slip as 14 man Doncaster fought back to score a converted try in the last minute to draw level.
The pirates gained 3 points but will be disappointed with the result as once again our discipline let us down as the penalties conceded allowed the home side back into the game.

What a game, well done to Doncaster but we could have and should have won. 3 points gained but two others given away. That said you can't fault any of the lads out there today, they gave their all and deserved a better outcome. Safe journey home everyone.

It was the penalty count that did the damage, especially in the second half, but credit to Donny for their determination against the odds to get the draw at the end. We were bit unlucky with several decisions by "sir" but the coaches will be disappointed with the way we managed the game in the last few minutes. That said, we played some great rugby at times and it was a very entertaining game, if a bit frustrating to watch near the end. Surprised at the sending off as we all know what a good man Maliq is, and this is completely out of character.

Does anyone know exactly what Maliq was red carded for?? As the coverage panned back to the centre of the park, I thought I saw some "afters" and later, the commentator puzzled me by his interpretation of what he'd been told by the officials in the half time break. Was it a high tackle, or what. I agree with Stalwart, he was never that sought of player with us!! Good to see AJ back playing after a long layoff for a head injury. In fact, it was his break down the right that put play close to the Pirates line, from where the Knights then scored their penultimate try.

It was only 0-10 at half time, then 3-10 early in the second half. Knights were dominating at that stage, but we defended well and then scored two quick tries and looked like we would win comfortably. But we made a lot of replacements and seemed to lose or shape a bit. Donny kept coming, despite being down to 14 men, so they deserve a lot of credit for finding a way to get the try at the death. Easy with hindsight, but we made a couple of dodgy tactical decisions in the last 15 minutes.

The RP states that Maliq got his red for “punching” which I didn’t see. Not like him

The rugby paper reports that it was a punch my Maliq that resulted in the red card.
Worrying from a Pirates point of view is that we conceded 21 penalties which is double what we should expect for a game.
Gavin Cattle has said that a number of the penalties were tough but would need to be reviewed before making further comment.
He did say that we gave them lifeline after lifeline and our errors gave them momentum.

Watching the game it was very hard to see what a lot of the penalties were for, but as P15 says 21 is far too many and definitely cost us the win.

Like yourself Stalwart I found it hard to see what the penalties were for but, the officials would have a better view than myself. Some conversion kicks after a try would have assisted us better as Donny appeared to have no issue gaining these. All said and done Donny came back fighting and made a game that had me off my seat a few times.

Bruce was a bit unlucky because all our tries resulted in very difficult kicks against a strong breeze. Frustrating, though, as just one conversion would have done the trick!
