Wolves re-sign 5 for 2007

Warrington Wolves have re-signed five players for the Engage Super League XII season, including a two year extension for back-rower Rob Parker, which will see him stay at the Halliwell-Jones until 2009. New one-year contracts for Chris Leikvoll and Mike Wainwright add to the experience in the pack, whilst Andy Bracek and SquadBuilder sponsored Steve Pickersgill have also had contract extensions with one year options being picked up for both players.

Rob Parker was only to happy to extend his contract, "I have had a bumpy start to my time at Warrington with it being a bit of an injury prone season, but I know I have a lot to offer the Club in the coming years and it is reward to know that the Coach and Board can see through the injuries to my actual ability and potential. Bring on 2007!"

Chris Leikvoll commented on signing up for Engage Super League XII, "I wanted to stay in England and in particular with Warrington as I have enjoyed my time here and it is important to me to help the Club to gain that success that we have been trying so hard for."

Mike confesses he wants to finish his career with the Wolves; "I wanted to finish my career with the Wolves and I must admit I thought at the beginning of the season that this was going to be my last, but halfway through decided that I was enjoying it that much that I would like to do another one."

Local boy and product of the Wolves Academy Steve Pickersgill commented on the Club taking up the option of a further year, "I was delighted that Warrington offered me a further year; as it was very important to me to carry on playing for my home town team and push for a first team place in 2007. There is a lot of competition for places for me this season with the new signings, but I am looking forward to training and playing alongside Moz [Adrian Morley], Vinnie [Anderson] and Paul [Johnson] and hopefully will learn some tips to improve my game."

Andy has enjoyed his experience so far at the Club and is determined to make the most of another year, "I have been breaking into the 17 via the bench at the back end of the season and I am determined to carry this on with the aim to be in the starting 13. I have learnt a lot from the Coaching Staff and I want to capitalise on this next season and really push myself forward."
