Ambitious Warrington Wolves have made their third major signing for 2007 with the capture of New Zealand Test player Vinnie Anderson from St Helens on a three-year deal.

The Wolves have paid £50,000 to Saints for the 27-year-old centre or second rower, who had another year left on his contract at Knowsley Road.

Anderson will join Great Britain forwards Adrian Morley and Paul Johnson at the Halliwell Jones Stadium next season as Warrington look to build on this year’s sixth-place finish in engage Super League.

Coach Paul Cullen said: "Vinnie is another player of international standard whose talents offensively and defensively will be a great asset."

Anderson made 40 appearances for St Helens since joining them on a three-year contract from New Zealand Warriors in March 2005 but was left out the team for both the Powergen Challenge Cup final in August and last Saturday’s Grand Final.

He won the last of his six caps in New Zealand’s 46-14 defeat by Great Britain at Knowsley Road in June.

Anderson added: "I am looking forward to working with Paul.

"I think Warrington had a good season this year and have made good signings for next season.

"They are definitely a team on the rise with high goals and I want to be a part of that."
