Winner of the award for best coach was Paul Cullen of Warrington Wolves who was presented with his award by Parry Gordon, the former Warrington scrum-half who made 543 appearances for the side.

Cullen was nominated for the accolade by the award’s independent panel of journalists who were impressed by his grit in driving his side to win three of the last four matches after a shaky start to the season.

Warrington have pulled off victories against Bradford Bulls, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Hull before losing by just one point away to St Helens.

Cullen said: “I am absolutely delighted to be selected for this Award. We had a tough start to the season and are now starting to find our form and long may this continue in our efforts to secure a top-six place.”
