Hay back to Eagles
ormer Great Britain international Andy Hay has rejoined National League Two club Sheffield Eagles as player and assistant coach.
The 34-year-old second-rower played for the Eagles from 1996-98 before playing for Leeds Rhinos and Widnes Vikings and spent last season with League One club Doncaster Lakers.
"Andy wants to get into coaching and he feels that we can help him develop," said Sheffield director of football Mark Aston.
"He will also be a player and bring a wealth of experience with him."
Gannon out for Giants
Huddersfield prop Jim Gannon will miss the first two months of engage Super League XI after undergoing knee surgery.
The 28-year-old Australian damaged his right knee in the penultimate match of last season at Bradford.
"Jim has targeted April time for his return," said coach Jon Sharp. "Obviously, that's a big blow, because losing a first-choice prop is bound to affect a lot of your plans. But the operation was something that couldn't be avoided."
