Harlequins RL v Warrington Wolves

Twickenham Stoop, London
Saturday 10th June 2006
Kick Off: 12:30pm

Live on SKY SPORTS 1 from 12:00pm

Warrington Wolves travel to The Twickenham Stoop on Saturday to face the rebranded Harlequins RL. Harlequins RL is the new name for London Broncos who used to play there matched at Griffin Park in Brentford. Harlequins RL like the Wolves were also knocked out of the Powergen Challange Cup last weekend, the Quins going down 36-18 to Leeds Rhinos at Headingley also on Sunday.

Harlequins RL are in a mixed run of form in the Super League following victories over Salford, and Huddersfield sandwiched between heavy defeats to Bradford and Leeds. Harlequins RL have one of the worst home Super League records in 2006 following only 2 victories in 7 attempts since there move from Griffin Park to Twickenham Stoop.

Warrington Wolves will be looking to close the gap on the Super League leaders this weekend and if results do go in the favour of Warrington, then the club could be sitting in 3rd position come 5pm on Sunday.

Last time Warrington travelled down to face London Broncos was in Rond one of Super League X 205, with the Broncos running out winners by 28-24 in a thrilling match. However, Warrington Wolves gained revenge for that loss by winning at The Halliwell Jones Stadium by 26-14 later in the season.

Like Warrington in 2005, London Broncos did qualify for the end of season play-offs and also like the Wolves the Broncos were eliminated on the first stage losing to St. Helens at Knowsley Road. However, both cluibs have the sights set on a second successive position in the play-offs in 2006 and will be looking to go one better then in 2005.

Warrington Wolves have no fresh injury concerns for the clash, with only Rob Parker and Paul Rauhihi missing for the Wolves. In-form Lee Briers is expected to be back for the Wolves, after he missed the shock loss to National League One side Hull KR last weekend. Lee Briers has set his sights on reaching a presonal milestone of 1,500 league points in his career. He is only 12 points away from reaching this and will be odds on to break the points barrier if the Wolves hit top form on Saturday.
